DALLAS, July 12, 1999 (PRIMEZONE) -- Transcontinental Realty Investors, Inc. (NYSE: TCI) announced Monday that the company's annual meeting of shareholders is set for Tuesday, August 31, 1999, at 11 a.m. Central time at its Dallas, Texas, headquarters.
Shareholders of record as of July 26, 1999, are eligible to vote at the annual meeting.
As previously announced, Transcontinental Realty Investors also will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Central time, Thursday, July 15, 1999, for shareholders of record as of May 10, 1999, to vote to approve the merger of TCI and Continental Mortgage & Equity Trust (NASDAQ: CMETS) in a tax-free exchange of shares.
