SHERMAN OAKS, Calif., March 8, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Alexander Auerbach & Co., Inc., announced that it will join the ranks of Intel, Ford, American Airlines and Delta by offering a computer and Internet access free to its employee worldwide.
The new Auerbach@Home PC Program will help the employee and his family participate fully in the information revolution and take advantage of the educational and e-Commerce opportunities on the Internet.
"We want our employee and his family to participate fully in the Internet revolution," said Alexander Auerbach, the public relations and marketing company's president and sole employee, repeating the point made in the previous paragraph. "The Auerbach@Home PC Program is the right new benefit for the year 2000: it's not especially innovative, it doesn't irritate anybody, and it makes for a terrific press release."
Details of the new Auerbach program were communicated to the company's employee during his morning coffee at Starbucks. All regular full-time Auerbach employees worldwide - currently numbering 1 - have received a baseline PC configuration using a middle-of-the-road AMD processor and unlimited Internet access. In addition, the bundle includes: printer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, office productivity software, technical support and his daughter's copy of "Talk To Me Barbie"(tm) software.
"We chose this configuration because this was the system our employee already had, so it won't cost us anything," Auerbach said. "This is one of the most important differences between our program and others."
Auerbach & Co. provides public relations and marketing services to technology companies and professional services firms, in part through virtual relationships with other experienced professionals. "We considered extending the Auerbach@Home program to these strategic partners, and generously agreed to do so after determining that all of them already had computers so we would not have to buy any," Auerbach said.
