Mr. Van Miert (1942) served as a member of the European Commission for ten years, most recently being responsible for competition policy. As from 1 April 2000 Mr. Van Miert will be President of Nyenrode University. As from the same date Mr. Van Miert will also be a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal Philips Electronics.
