It's amazing how each part of the project is right in tune with Nokia's Connecting People message, in other words getting acquainted, being together, learning from each other and communicating. In fact, the Children's Museum laboratories/workshops make it possible to narrate historical events and describe works of art and the basics of architecture to kids using fun and constructive methods to bring them all together. The Multimedia Museum and the Palazzo Vecchio Segreto CD-ROM in particular prove how the new technologies are a practical and effective means for learning and chronicling events. Instead, the Percorsi Segreti have been designed to go one step further, to venture into areas that were once inaccessible and hidden and thus truly intriguing. All this proves that a visit to a museum can also be a great adventure that is just as fun as the imaginary places in the technological world of virtual reality.
"This is why Nokia is promoting 'Nuovo Palazzo Vecchio' through an intense program of activities," points out Paola Tomaselli, Marketing Director of Nokia Italia - Nokia Mobile Phones, who adds: "First, an invitation to visit the museum will be extended to all members of the Nokia Club and, second, a multimedia station will be created to show how a cell phone and a portable computer can be linked to transfer data, to use electronic mail, to connect to the Internet and, why not, in the future, to visit the Nuovo Palazzo Vecchio site. Finally, Nokia's efforts will be focused on schools, to strengthen and to sustain an approach to knowledge based on children's interactions and multi-sensorial stimulation using a language that they are all very familiar with: the language of telecommunications."
