Voicenet Applies for Listing on the AMEX and Appoints Audit Committee

NEW YORK, May 3, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Voicenet, Inc. (OTCBB:VNET) announced today that it has made application to The American Stock Exchange for listing its common stock on the AMEX.

In connection with the requirements of the American Stock Exchange, the Company has also appointed its Audit Committee, which is comprised of non-employee Directors of Voicenet, Inc. The members of the newly constituted committee are: Rt. Hon. Dr. Lord John Gilbert, the former Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom, Mr. Chris Brown, a partner in the chartered accounting firm of William Buck and Co., along with Mr. Alan Dawson, Chairman of Voicenet (Aust.) Ltd.

Frank Carr, Chairman of Voicenet stated "Our decision to apply for listing on the American Stock Exchange is being done at this time in order to allow the Company to have greater exposure to the investment community. As demonstrated by the acceptance by Telefonica CTC, a major Latin American tier-one telecommunications carrier group, in its April 25, 2000 agreement with Rimpex International S.A. of our voice recognition ("VR") enabled application services and related technologies from our SPEECHware( suite of architecture, the growth of our technology in the Americas has resulted in increased interest in the Company by the investment community as a whole. Our commitment to increased shareholder value can only occur through the continued growth of the Company and bringing its message and technological expertise to a wider array of investors."
