Mr Dan W. Colliander (38) has been appointed President of Suunto Oy, a subsidiary of Amer Group Plc, as of 1 August 2000. He joins Amer Group from The Gillette Company, Boston, MA, where he worked most recently as Business Director, Global Business Management, responsible for establishing global corporate strategies within male blades and razors, and executing the strategic business plan.
Mr Colliander has wide international experience in sales and marketing as well as in creating and executing global strategies for internationally recognised brands.
A Finnish native, Colliander started his career with The Gillette Company in Helsinki, Finland in 1984. Since 1987 he has held various positions at Gillette and its subsidiaries in several countries, first in Great Britain, Sweden and Germany and then since 1996 in the US, where he served both at The Gillette Company and its subsidiaries Braun Inc. and Oral-B Laboratories.v
Mr Colliander (B.Sc.) graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida in 1982. Since then he has undertaken further education in several management programmes, such as the General Management Program at INSEAD (CEDEP), Fontainbleau, France.
