The Wall Street Transcript Publishes Analyst Comments on U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Conference Issue

NEW YORK, June 16, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Thirteen leading analysts and top management from ninety-seven sector firms examine Investing Strategies in this special 364-page U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Conference Issue from The Wall Street Transcript (212/952-7433) or http://www.twst.com/info/info114.htm.

1) Internet Software Infrastructure - In an in-depth (3,400 words) Analyst Interview, Hany Nada, Managing Director of U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, examines the outlook for the sector, including e-commerce, trends on the demand side, his valuation methodology, and shares specific stock recommendations.

Nada explains his approach to the internet services sector. "I tend to look at the customer profiles of these companies. We do a lot of channel-checking with the customers and to figure out why they're using the software they use and why they are not using some other software. Why are their preferences the way they are. That's just to make sure that what the company is saying matches the reality that a lot of the customers are experiencing."

BroadVision (Nasdaq:BVSN) is the biggest player in terms of actual revenue, states Nada. "They provide e-business platforms for the Global 1000. The company has been very consistent over the last year and a half in terms of growth rates, sequentially growing roughly 50% per quarter. I think it has a very strong technology platform, with a very strong management team."

Nada cites Vignette (Nasdaq:VIGN) as an exemplary growth story. "Vignette is the fastest-growing software company (so far) in history. They are growing in excess of 70% on a sequential basis, 550% on a year-over-year basis. They also provide e-business platforms for the Global 1000."

Nada highlights Art Technology (Nasdaq:ARTG). "I think they have got the most leading-edge products. And I think they have got a tremendous amount of support from third-party systems integrators. What Art has done is to develop an almost eagle-eye focus on getting systems integrators trained and up-and-running on their software, so that they can go in and resell and deploy the system."

Nada sees value in Net Perceptions (Nasdaq:NEPT). "Net Perceptions provides customer interaction software. It allows you to interact with your customer over the Web, over the telephone, over e-mail and in physical store locations. There are a lot of companies providing services over the Internet that are, in terms of valuations, extremely inexpensive, given growth rates of upwards of 100%."
