Profile's Alaskan Below Ground Inspection Work Increased

NEW YORK, July 24, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) - PROFILE TECHNOLOGIES, INC (Nasdaq:PRTK) announced today that its below ground electromagnetic wave (EMW) pipeline inspection work on Alaska's North Slope has been expanded to include new corrosion testing for buried piping at Milne Point and Endicott, two oil fields operated by British Petroleum.

The new below ground corrosion inspection work will begin in early to mid-September following testing underway in the Kaparuk and Prudhoe Bay oil fields, says Joseph Galbraith, Profile's Vice President of Field Operations. For the past three years, Profile has been employing its automated EMW scanning technology to inspect buried piping for corrosion. The expanded contract, says Mr. Galbraith, will almost double last year's below ground work scope.

"Current below ground testing is proceeding on schedule," said Mr. Galbraith. "Our improved EMW inspection hardware and software system has enabled us to increase our measuring distances and speed both the transmission and formatting of our EMW inspection data. The fact that the work scope has been expanded yet again is one more proof of the reliability and growing acceptance of our Dual Pulse Propagation Technology on the North Slope."
