Nokia has today introduced its Nokia NetActTM Configurator family of network management solutions. Designed to support a smooth transition to next generation networks, Nokia NetAct Configurator is a breakthrough product that will provide significant cost and efficiency benefits.
This new family of management solutions, which targets the lowest operating costs on the market, was launched today at UMTS 2000 in Barcelona, Spain.
"With Nokia NetAct Configurator, operators can use the same management system to configure current and next-generation networks and services. As well as enabling a smooth technology evolution, this supports faster roll-outs, better network consistency, and optimised network and service performance, whatever the underlying technology," said Jorma Häkkinen, Vice President and General Manager, Nokia Operations Support Systems.
Nokia NetAct Configurator is part of the Nokia NetAct Framework, which has more than 20 open Application Programming Interfaces The configurator family, like the entire Nokia NetAct Framework, offers an easy-to-use management solution
Nokia NetAct Configurator comprises of three modules: Nokia NetAct Radio Access Configurator, Nokia NetAct Traffic Control Configurator and Nokia NetAct Packet Core Configurator. To improve process automation and information flow, they provide full-scale configuration management of radio access, core access and mobile packet core networks. Benefits include higher revenue and quality of service, and more efficient deployment and consistency checking.
To support fast and efficient planning and optimisation of next-generation networks, Nokia NetAct Configurator also works seamlessly with Nokia NetAct Planner, a complete set of network planning tools.
