UTRECHT, The Netherlands, July 3, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- NedGraphics Holding N.V. (NedGraphics) (AEX:NEDG), which announced yesterday that they expect to reach an agreement on the acquisition of NedGraphics by Blue Fox Enterprises N.V, has been awarded a contract for the delivery of an aeronautical charting system by an international consortium led by Avitech GmbH, Germany, and Frequentis Ges.mbH. of Austria. The contract is part of the order the consortium received from EUROCONTROL for the delivery of the European Aeronautical Information Services Database (EAD). The NedGraphics delivery, with a total value of EUR 750.000, is based on the smartGlobe product, which has been acquired from LOGOS in December 2000. The project is to be undertaken over a period of two years.
EUROCONTROL, the European Organization for Flight Safety, is responsible for the safety of air traffic in the European Airspace. The EAD project is aimed at providing a single, quality controlled, European Database of aeronautical information published by National Aviation Authorities. NedGraphics will deliver the charting subsystem that will allow Authorities to publish maps and charts for inclusion in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) or to be used in Air Traffic Control. In addition to the smartGlobe software, NedGraphics will provide database consultancy and integration and migration services. Under the contract the EAD System will be deployed throughout Europe.
