STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Feb. 5, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Swedish service provider Bankgirocentralen, (BGC AB) now expands to offer new services within its business area Devise Business Transactions Sweden. ReadSoft has been chosen to deliver systems for the electronic processing of invoices. BGC, a leading provider of payment services, offers to process supplier invoices for client companies and ReadSoft's INVOICES software will be the heart of the handling process.
BGC has used ReadSoft's software to facilitate the handling of invoices internally in the organization for some time. Now BGC presents a new service to their customers by automatically reading, interpreting and verifying supplier invoices. To make this possible, BGC has turned to ReadSoft's acknowledged INVOICES technology. Initially, Bankgirocentralen will buy licenses, hardware and services to read, interpret and verify hundreds of thousands of invoices annually.
"This order from BGC further strengthens our position within the important bank and finance segment. Internationally we have a number of customers within the banking sector and the demand for our INVOICES product increases as more companies develop their business concepts, says Jan Andersson, MD of ReadSoft.
The actual paper invoice will not reach BGC's customers at all. Instead the documents will be received, scanned and interpreted by BGC. When the information is processed it will be electronically transferred together with an electronic image to the client's accounts payable system.
Bankgirocentralen develops and administrates order for payment in the Swedish "Bankgiro" system. Every day Bankgirocentralen carries out more than 1 million payments. With the new service area Devise Business Transactions, BGC combines 40 years of secure payments experience with the latest technology in digital business transactions.
