Pharmaceutical Association of Spain Continues to Roll-Out ReadSoft's System

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Feb. 28, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- One year after the first implementation of ReadSoft's solution for automatic data capture, the Pharmaceutical Association of Spain has signed a large new license contract to install FORMS. The software will be used to automate the processing of medical prescriptions and eliminate manual keypunching. The upgrade is worth 300,000 USD to ReadSoft.

FORMS will scan the prescriptions, interpret the necessary information and transfer the captured data into the clients' database. Until now, the pharmaceutical organisation had to hire temporary labour to manually process the information during peak periods. The new installation from ReadSoft will save them time, money and human resources, since the software not only automatically reads the information but also performs different checks and controls during the process.

"This upgrade is a natural development after our first installation in northern Spain in 2001. The customer sees the advantages of our products and therefore continues to roll out the solution on a broader scale. This is very rewarding and serves as yet another fine reference in this market segment," comments ReadSoft's MD Jan Andersson.

ReadSoft is the market leader in the development and sales of software for automatic data capture, which is software that automatically registers and interprets data on forms and invoices in electronic or paper format. Since its establishment in 1991, ReadSoft has evolved into a global corporation with twelve subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, the UK, the US, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Australia. In 2001 the turnover was 29 MUSD, and the Swedish business magazine Veckans AffArer awarded ReadSoft the title "IT Company of the Year 2001".
