Nocom Signs Major Agreement With Stockholm County Council After Completion of Procurement Process; Nocom Responsible for Hosting and Support of Internet Portal Vardguiden

UPPSALA, Sweden, March 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nocom AB (publ) has signed a general agreement with the Stockholm County Council pertaining to managed hosting and support of the Internet portal for health and medical services Vardguiden and the council's electronic catalog service EK, as well as other similar applications. The agreement calls for services and products valued at approximately SEK 10 million and runs for a period of two years. The agreement was preceded by an open procurement process.

"We chose Nocom because their bid included appropriate services for reliable operation and the support of modern Web-based services requiring very high security and accessibility," said Per Dahlgren, Director of Procurement for the Stockholm County Council. "Nocom has also clearly demonstrated that they are prepared for close collaboration with the suppliers that the county council has for development and administration of the applications that will be used in the operating environment. This, in combination with an attractive price, lead to Nocom's success in the procurement process."

Vardguiden (www.vardguiden.nu), launched in December 2001, is the Stockholm County Council's Internet portal for health and medical services information. During 2002, the operating environment for Vardguiden will be established at Nocom's operational facility e-channel center in the Stockholm suburb of Solna. Vardguiden has already won acclaim in various ways and the portal recently received a very positive assessment in the magazine Internetworld in a comparison of different healthcare sites. Vardguiden will successively provide several interactive services. With the new services, visitors will be able to communicate with family doctors' offices, renew prescriptions and book appointments over the Internet, just to mention a few examples. The requirements for security and confidentiality are very high and are comparable to the security levels required by online banking services.

"Nocom has many years of experience and considerable expertise in integrated IT solutions. The agreement with the Stockholm County Council is a direct result of our conscientious and farsighted investments in advanced operational solutions," said Niclas Sahlgren, Business Area Manager at Nocom. "We look forward to working with the Stockholm County Council, a forerunner it its sector in respect to the utilization of new technology. At our e-channel center, we have several important customers within, for example, the banking and financial sectors. We also see excellent potential in health and medical services, where requirements for confidential communications over the Internet are very similar to those of banks."
