CUSTOMERS BENEFIT FROM ADVA METRO SOLUTIONS THROUGH THE INRANGE PARTNERSHIP

ADVA Optical Networking (German Neuer Markt: ADV), a leading global provider of optical networking solutions, today announced that a total of 26 new enterprise, carrier, and service provider customers have implemented Fiber Service Platform ("FSP") products through its partnership with INRANGE Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: INRG) during the first eight months of 2002. INRANGE, the world leader in high-end storage networking solutions, sells and supports ADVA FSP solutions under the "Powered by ADVA" program and "INRANGE IN-VSN Spectrum" product name.

INRANGE has been an Original Equipment Manufacturing ("OEM") partner of ADVA Optical Networking solutions since 1995. Over that time, ADVA and INRANGE have together delivered metro optical networking solutions to an installed customer base which now totals over 200 customers, including Fortune 500 corporations, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, carriers, and service providers around the world. The 26 new customers won during the first eight months of 2002 are located in the Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
