STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 1, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sandvik (Other OTC:SDVKY) issued the following:
Sandvik has been sued on incorrect grounds for asbestos-related claims in Pennsylvania in the U.S. Sandvik is the wrong party and has requested that the company be dismissed from these legal proceedings.
The lawsuits relate to mining equipment that has not been manufactured or sold by Sandvik.
In 1989, Sandvik Tamrock acquired parts of American Eimco, however, this part of the operations are not included in these litigations. The lawsuits pertain to 19 individual cases.
