MALMO, Sweden, Jan. 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Benima, part of the Teleca (Stockholm:TELCb) group, has signed a contract with the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) to develop a training simulator for the SNRA's traffic control centre in Gothenburg.
The commission, which is Benima's first to come directly from the SNRA, was won in hard competition with established suppliers. The contract opens the way for increased collaboration between Benima and the SNRA.
"Benima has proposed a very competitive solution based on a great deal of experience and expertise in industrial IT," said Peter Wessel, technical coordinator of road informatics systems at the SNRA. "We're looking forward to a successful collaboration."
"We're very pleased that the SNRA has chosen us as its partner for this project. We've worked hard to be able to offer the best solution," said Jonas Granath, head of business management at Benima Sydvast AB. "We're seeing an increased interest in simulation from customers, and this project will increase our unique expertise in the area. This in turn will lead to more business."
The training simulator will be used by SNRA's Western Region as part of an advanced training system.
