MALMO, Sweden, Feb. 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca (Stockholm:TELCb) announced today that it has signed a competence center agreement with Nokia. Teleca will supply development and integration services to handset manufacturers licensing the Series 60 Platform.
Teleca's Series 60 Competence Center has optimised skills in offering end-to-end software and hardware integration work for the licensees and will manage specific, customised projects as well as entire Series 60 smart phone integration work. Today Teleca is already working on several Series 60-integration projects.
"Teleca is delighted to collaborate with Nokia and the Series 60 licensees on the Series 60 Platform. This strengthens Teleca's position as a leading supplier of services to mobile handset manufacturers, and is an important part of our Open Platform strategy, " said Nick Wood, Senior Vice President, Teleca Mobile Devices.
"Series 60 Competence Centers, such as Teleca, will expand development support for the licensees of the Series 60 Platform and will benefit licensees with reduced time-to-market," said Jukka Riivari, Director, Sales, Nokia Mobile Software. "We are delighted to have new members joining the Series 60 work."
Nokia will provide engineering and technical support to competence centers, including access to programming interfaces and early releases of new and evolving functionalities.
