ADVA OPTICAL NETWORKING AND INRANGE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE 2G FIBRE CHANNEL INTEROPERABILITY TESTING

ADVA Optical Networking (FSE: ADV), a leading global provider of optical networking solutions, today announced that Inrange Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: INRG), a leading provider of high-availability, enterprise connectivity and storage networking solutions, has qualified ADVA's Fiber Service Platform (FSP) systems with INRANGE's complete line of IN-VSN(TM) FC/9000(TM) Fibre Channel Directors in INRANGE's Interoperability Initiative (I3) Lab, based in Lumberton, New Jersey. Based upon a mutually-agreed test plan, new FSP features including 2:1 Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) functionality and 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel card were qualified with the 64-, 128-, and 256-port models of the FC/9000. Given the increasing deployment of storage solutions by carriers and enterprises worldwide, this comprehensive interoperability testing provides customers with a high level of assurance for transportation of their mission-critical applications.

ADVA's FSP systems employ parallel use of Coarse/Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (C/DWDM) and TDM technology to enable up to 256 applications to be transported over one single fiber pair. Their robust character and ability to transport all protocols between 8Mbit/s and 10Gbit/s make the FSP an ideal solution particularly for large-scale, high-bandwidth storage networks.
