The user simply puts his or her finger on the easily accessible pop-out sensor to confirm identity and thereby unlock the laptop.
Precise 100 PC-Card was first presented at ASIS International security trade show in Philadelphia, PA, USA on September 10-12, 2002 and at the IT trade show Networks Telecom in Stockholm, Sweden on September 24-26, 2002.
The product, which is part of the company's line of fingerprint readers for IT security, is offered in two models: Precise 100 PC-Card with Precise BioMatch(TM) Standard functionality ("Match-on-server" or "Match-on-PC"), and Precise 100 PC-Card MC with Precise Match-on-Card(TM) functionality ("Match-on-Card"), depending on the user's needs.
