City of Philadelphia CIO Dianah L. Neff Recognized as One of Government Technology's Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers

PHILADELPHIA, March 17, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dianah L. Neff, City of Philadelphia Chief Information Officer, is recognized in the March 2003 edition of Government Technology as one of the Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in state and local government technology.

"Dianah is an asset to our city. Her leadership and knowledge of technology are positioning numerous departments in Philadelphia to provide better service to residents while operating more efficiently," said Mayor John F. Street. "I congratulate Dianah on this well deserved honor, and will certainly expect nothing but great things from her years to come in our city."

Since coming to the City of Philadelphia in May 2001, Neff has guided the betterment of technology in the city. Today, Philadelphia's geographic information system (GIS) is one of the country's most robust; the city's Web site, www.phila.gov, has evolved to an interactive resource that empowers residents, visitors and businesses to transact with the city online; and wireless technology solutions are helping the city operate more efficiently.

She serves on the mayor's cabinet and heads the Mayor's Office of Information Services (MOIS), the central coordination point for the improvement of city information technology (IT) processes. MOIS strives to use technology to enhance neighborhood transformation, caring for families and children, economic development and public safety in support of Mayor Street's vision for Philadelphia.

Neff has 16 years experience in providing leadership and implementation of organization-wide strategic information technology planning, assuring reliability of information technology infrastructure, and directing information technology departments in their delivery of technology support services in both city and county organizations.
