SOLNA, Sweden, March 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- NCC Construction Finland has been commissioned by Leppavaaran Liikekeskus to build the second phase of the Sello shopping mall in Espoo, just outside Helsinki. The assignment will be conducted in the form of a joint venture with Skanska Oy. The total order value is SEK 1,380 million (EUR 150 million), of which NCC's 50-percent share is worth approximately SEK 690 million (EUR 75 million).
The project will comprise approximately 97,000 square meters of floor space within three floors, making it the largest construction assignment of its kind in Finland. The intention is that small shops will lease the premises.
The assignment is scheduled for completion in October 2005. A total of about 300 employees will be engaged in the construction project.
The first phase of the Sello shopping mall was completed in February this year. It comprises 29,000 square meters of floor space and the largest tenants are two major supermarket chains. In addition, a library and a concert hall will be completed during April. NCC and Skanska (Other OTC:SKSBF) also shared responsibility for the first phase of this large shopping mall.
