São Paulo, March 25, 2003 - A mobile phone for each style. This is what Nokia will offer Brazilian mobile phone users this year. The world's largest mobile phone manufacturer will introduce 12 new devices at Telexpo 2003 - most of them will be available at stores by the end of June. Novelties include features to meet the needs and desires of a wide range of user profiles.

Nokia N-Gage (TM): the revolutionary game experience
The Nokia N-Gage game deck enables an enriched interactive gaming experience by introducing an innovative wireless multiplayer platform for both local and remote gaming. The Nokia N-Gage game deck allows users to play the latest high quality titles in a new way - multiplayer games connected locally via Bluetooth wireless technology or over-the-air games over mobile networks.
Besides gaming, the Nokia N-Gage mobile game deck also features a digital music player (MP3/AAC) and stereo FM radio, as well as a tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 mobile phone.
Nokia 2100: ergonomic design
Nokia 2100, with GSM technology, has ergonomic design and user-friendly keyboard, in addition to high-quality display (96 X 65 pixels) that allows you to view up to 4 lines of text with white backlighting to improve readability. The phone has animated screensavers, ring tones, games, and a Picture Editor which allows users to create and personalise messages with images. There is also a window for inserting your favourite photo or picture inside the back cover.
Nokia 2220: personalization
TDMA users will find in Nokia 2220 features such as vibrating alert, two-way text messaging, over-the-air business card exchange and phonebook with capacity for 200 entries. It also has blue backlight, e-mail support and three factory-configured games. It enables consumers to express their individuality by downloading ring tones and graphic icons and has user changeable Xpress-on covers (front and back).
Nokia 2280: CDMA2000 1x with recorder and alarm clock
The CDMA model Nokia 2280 has a phonebook with capacity for 250 entries and voice dialling for up to 25 numbers. Although it has been designed for voice communication, its offers WAP browsing and short text or email messaging features. Nokia 2280 can also be connected to your PC by cable, for the synchronization of phonebook and calendar information. It is compatible with CDMA2000 1x and comes with recorder and alarm clock.
Nokia 3520: first TDMA with colour display
Nokia is bringing to Brazil the first TDMA dual mode mobile phone (800 MHz/AMPS - analogue) with colour display, giving TDMA operators an opportunity to better compete against other carriers by offering colour handsets to their customers. Nokia 3520 also enables downloading Java(TM)applications, such as games and productivity software, exchanging graphic and text messages from mobile phone to mobile phone, has user changeable Xpress-on covers (front and back), and recorder for up to 3 minutes of reminders.
Nokia 3530: more fun in mobile communication
Nokia 3530 is the GSM launching (900/1800 MHz) that brings colour and fun to users who want more than simply communicating. With a colour display and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) connection, it enables sending multimedia messages (MMS, messages that combine text and image). Enabled for Java technology, Nokia 3530 supports downloading applications, as well as graphic and interactive games. With the WAP 1.2.1 browser, it is also possible to download wallpapers, ring tones, and graphic and animated icons for a personal touch to the device.
Nokia 3586: CDMA2000 1x with colour display
CDMA users may add colour and high-speed data exchange to mobile communication. These are the highlights of Nokia 3586, which combines colour displays and CDMA2000 1x connection with a full selection of features and elegant design. This phone enables downloading Java applications, such as graphic games. For those users who like to give a personal touch to their phones, there is room to add 10 ringing tones. Another possibility is to add graphic icons that may be used in the calendar. Nokia 3586 also features voice dialling for up to 25 phonebook entries and recorder for reminders.
Nokia 3650: video recording camera
With an integrated high-resolution camera, video recorder, video player and multimedia messaging (MMS), Nokia 3650 offers users a new outlook in visual mobile communication. Versatility is another highlight: since it is tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz, it works in the three radio frequencies used by this standard, and may be used in any GSM network in the world.
Nokia 3650 features integrated VGA camera, 176X208 pixels colour display with 4096 colours and a 5-way circular scroll key, enabling users to share special moments easily and instantaneously. It also has a video recorder to capture short videos in addition to RealOne Player for downloading and playing videos, in real time. It also includes email support and a XHTML browser that enables Internet browsing.
Nokia 6100: several functionalities in a compact mobile phone
Developed to cater to the demands of professionals who depend on mobile communication in their everyday lives, Nokia 6100 (tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900MHz) is a compact phone - the smallest phone ever produced by Nokia - but with all functionalities to facilitate daily task performance and management.
Its ergonomic keyboard facilitates text entry. Texts may be associated to sounds and images and sent to another mobile phone enabled for multimedia messages (MMS) or to an email address. Nokia 6100 supports Java 2 Micro Edition (J2METM), based on Mobile Information Device Profile 1.0 (MIDP 1.0), which enables developers to create specific applications for this model.
Nokia 6200: high-speed data transmission
Nokia brings to the Brazilian market the Nokia 6200 (tri-band GSM 850/1800/1900 MHz), the first EDGE-compatible phone, which enables data transmissions at a speed of up to 118 Kbps, twice the speed of conventional fixed lines (56 Kbps). The phone features a large high-resolution colour display, suitable to visualize images and XHTML navigation. It has an ergonomically designed keyboard, with large keys, to facilitate mobile message exchange, in addition to being enabled to receive and send multimedia messages. Users also have high-quality sound, with ring tones, stereo, built-in FM radio and voice recording. It is also possible to download Java(TM) applications.
Nokia 6585: CDMA with multimedia message
One of the lightest and most compact CDMA2000 1x mobile phones ever launched in the Americas, Nokia 6585 offers high-speed data transmission, application download, and built-in FM radio and speaker. It is ideal for users who look for a phone with elegant design and state-of-the-art technology.
One of the novelties of Nokia 6585 is its multimedia message service. With this functionality, users may receive and send images, text and sounds to other compatible phones or email addresses. For consumers that like to exercise their individuality, Nokia 6585 offers several forms of personalization. In addition to user changeable Xpress-on covers (front and back), the user may add new ring tones. JavaTM technology enables downloading applications, such as software to help everyday organization and games that benefit from the 128 X 128 pixels colour display.
Nokia 7250i: photographic camera in a compact phone
Nokia 7250i (GSM 900 /1800/ 1900 MHz) is the first model of the mobile phone fashion line, with a built-in photographic camera. With it, you can, for instance, send pictures taken during a party to another MMS phone or to your friends' email address. The device has colour display, multimedia messaging features and a built-in FM radio - all in a compact format and elegant design. Its integrated camera was developed for use in compact screens, like this model's, with 128X128 pixels. A XHTML browser and shortcuts to the main features facilitate navigation and the creation of multimedia messages.
Security
In the web security area, Nokia Internet Communications brings to Telexpo 2003 two new products. One is IP30, hardware especially built to run Safe@Home and Safe@Office softwares, from Check Point, which offer firewall and VPN (Virtual Private Network) for small offices or remote employees. The other is IP380, a single rack system for high-performance VPN, firewall and intruder detection applications, and which facilitates service implementation.
Also, Nokia will show its commitment to the development of the only digital radio communication standard in the world - TETRA (Terrestrial Trunking Radio), developed specifically to meet the technical e operational requirements of radio communications of de Public Safety forces. The Nokia TETRA system is used in several countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America, offering fast, safe and reliable communication between different security and emergency organs through only one digital network. The Nokia TETRA system is also used in railways and by transportation public utilities companies.
