STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 23, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Torbjorn Torell, the managing director of the A-listed consulting engineering company, Scandiaconsult AB, will leave his position at the Annual General Meeting on May 8.
"With the Danish consulting engineering company Ramboell as its new owner, Scandiaconsult is entering a new development phase. Ramboell has offered me the opportunity of continuing as vice CEO of the new Group and managing director of the Swedish operations, but I feel that after more than five years as managing director, this is the right time to resign. The new owner must have total freedom of action," said Mr. Torell giving his reasons for his decision.
"In the situation which has arisen, I fully understand his decision to resign and look for new challenges in the business world," commented Scandiaconsult's chairman of the Board, Lars-Ove Hakansson. When Torbjorn Torell took up his post, Scandiaconsult was a damaged and divided company. Under his leadership, Scandiaconsult has been built up into a leading consulting engineering company with a high level of profitability and good continued development opportunities."
