MALMO, Sweden, May 8, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca and Ericsson Telecomunicazioni SpA have signed an agreement, where Teleca takes responsibility for Ericsson's Italian adaptation activities of core network products for operators. The agreement started in January 2003 and approximately 10 consultants are already working in different projects.
The agreement is part of Teleca's strategy to strengthen its position in the Italian market. As a result of the agreement Teleca is recruiting new skilled engineers in Rome.
Teleca has formed a dedicated group specialised in market adaptations of core network products, e.g. AXE-switches, for Ericsson's customers on the Italian market. Ericsson's customers include TIM, WIND and 3. The Teleca team is currently working at Ericsson's premises but will be based at Teleca offices during the second half of the year.
"The new agreement increases our presence at Ericsson Telecomunicazioni SpA, and is proof of our ability to offer competitive and high value solutions for our customers," said Enrico Bucci, President at Teleca Systems Italia SpA. "In order to facilitate cooperation on this and future agreements we will establish a new office very close to Ericsson in Rome."
