NCC to Build Apartments in Oslo in Partnering Project Worth SEK 185 Million

SOLNA, Sweden, May 28, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- NCC Construction AS has concluded its first partnering agreement in Norway. The assignment is for the construction of 120 apartments at Kingos Gate in Oslo. The client is Viken Bolig and the order is worth about SEK 185 million (NOK 160 million).

The apartments will be modern, functional and cost effective, with considerable scope for adaptation to the specific requirements of purchasers. Construction will commence around the end of this year and the project is scheduled for completion during autumn 2005.

The project will be implemented by NCC, Viken Bolig, Andersson Arkitekter, Spenncon and Elektrisk in the form of a partnering arrangement.

NCC in Norway is assigning high priority to partnering, a structured form of cooperation based on open books, with the aim of creating a better and more cost-effective construction process. The experiences gained from NCC's partnering activities in Denmark and Sweden show that partnering results in fewer disputes and a more efficient construction process, while reducing costs and improving the quality of construction operations.

"It is gratifying that we can now launch our first partnering project, just a few months after work on establishing this work method in Norway was initiated," says Tommy Helgerud, Regional Manager at NCC Construction AS.
