LUND, Sweden, Aug. 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Anoto (Other OTC:AOTOF) has sued an individual, residing in the United State, for tortuous interference with business relations, Lanham Act violations and for declaratory judgements of patent invalidity, patent unenforceability, and non-infringement. This individual subsequently filed a court paper reflecting an intent to counter sue Anoto for patent infringement.
"It is always sad when discussions end up in court, but the reality of Intellectual Property Rights in new technology makes it fairly common. I believe Anoto has a very strong position in this case, nevertheless we deal with all matters of this type with utmost care and precaution," said Orjan Johansson, CEO of Anoto Group AB.
Anoto carries patent insurance, which typically covers a majority of costs in a case like this.
