Roaming Messenger and FirstWatch Announce Strategic Alliance

Roaming Messenger to be Included in FirstWatch Biosurveillance Early Warning System

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., August 28, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Roaming Messenger(tm) (OTCBB:RMSG) has entered into an agreement to provide the advanced mobile messaging component for FirstWatch(tm), the leading early warning biosurveillance system.

An integrated prototype was demonstrated at the 69th APCO Annual Conference in Indianapolis August 10 - 14. APCO, the Association of Public-Safety and Communications Officials, is the world's oldest and largest not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of public safety communications.

FirstWatch monitors 9-1-1 calls as they occur to detect trends indicating the possible outbreak of disease, illness or unusual patterns of injury from bioterrorism or other causes. The FirstWatch system has been chosen to protect more than 6 million people in over 150 communities nationwide.

According to the agreement, FirstWatch will use the Roaming Messenger system to deliver time critical information relating to these 9-1-1 anomalies to public safety agencies, emergency management organizations and public health agencies, tracking down the appropriate individuals and allowing them to interact directly with the FirstWatch system.

"Roaming Messenger has unique capabilities that we haven't seen before in messaging products," said Todd Stout, founder and CEO of Stout Solutions Inc., parent company of FirstWatch. "FirstWatch currently uses e-mail and fax alerts. However, we envision using Roaming Messenger to send out much more sophisticated alerts so the system can track down mobile users, deliver reports to them and even coordinate a live multi-party web conference. We believe Roaming Messenger will be a great enhancement to the FirstWatch system as we expand beyond the public safety market and move into health care and other emergency response markets."

Jon Lei, President and CEO of Roaming Messenger, said, "The FirstWatch system is a very important product that helps protect our nation against the threat of biological terrorism. Stout Solutions is a pioneer in the public safety arena and we are proud and excited to be their partner. FirstWatch needed a more efficient way to interact with its mobile users in real time, and that's what Roaming Messenger provides. We are looking forward to helping Stout Solutions further its market penetration."
