Nomadix' CTO Joel Short to Discuss Wi-Fi Roaming and Connecting to HotSpots and HotZones

 WHAT:  Joel Short, chief technology officer for Nomadix, the leading
        supplier of Public-access solutions will speak at Intel's
        Unwiring Asia conference in Hong Kong on September 15, 2003
        from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. The panel discussion titled "From
        Hotspots to Hotzones: Roaming, Connecting the Hotspots" will
        address Wi-Fi roaming connecting issues through a case study
        format.

        Unwiring Asia aims to explore the trends, companies and
        technologies that shape the future of Wi-Fi.  The complete
        agenda highlights technology and business changes happening
        globally and across the region. Through participation in
        topic-specific sessions, Policy makers, enterprise CIOs,
        Service Providers, OEMs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists,
        analysts and technologists will discuss and challenge ideas
        and opinions.  The event is hosted by Intel, Intel
        Communications Group, Intel Capital, and Mobile Platforms
        Group, Intel.

 WHO:   Dr. Joel Short is the Chief Technology Officer and Sr. Vice
        President of Nomadix, a company he co-founded with Internet
        Pioneer Dr. Leonard Kleinrock. Nomadix provides embedded
        software and hardware solutions that enable seamless and
        secure high speed Internet access for mobile users. Dr. Short
        also serves as vice-chair of WECA's Wireless ISP Roaming
        (WISPr) committee and is editor and co-author of WISPr's
        document on "Best Common Practices for Wireless ISP (WISP)
        Roaming." Dr. Short has extensive experience in the design and
        management of complex computer network systems, having worked
        for various technology start-ups and well-known technology
        companies including Apple Computer.  He received his Ph.D. in
        Computer Science from UCLA where he was a lead contributor to
        various ARPA sponsored wireless and mobile research projects
        including TRAVLER - Transparent Virtual Networking and WAMIS -
        Wireless Adaptive Mobile Information Systems.
