DENVER, Dec. 9, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- USURF America, Inc. (AMEX:UAX), a provider of wireless, high-speed broadband communications services, announced today an agreement with Carriage Manor RV Resort of Mesa, Ariz. to deploy high-speed Internet access through a right-of-entry agreement to more than 900 tenants in the assigned community. USURF will be deploying to the first 30 customers this week.
For the initial deployment, USURF will be implementing its fixed-wireless broadband technology within Carriage Manor, the first of two RV communities that USURF plans to serve and deploy in the near term. Both USURF and Carriage Manor anticipate better than 20% of the community will subscribe to the high-speed Internet services. Carriage Manor currently maintains a computer club with more than 400 members, where the majority has expressed an interest in obtaining high-speed access. USURF will provide access for the business office and is currently negotiating with the computer club to offer Wi-Fi services within the clubhouse and pool areas.
"The model we have selected for Carriage Manor is similar to our Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) deployment given both high concentration levels and high percentage of potential subscribers," said Ken Upcraft, USURF's executive vice-president.
