Autoliv Receives Japanese Award


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 14, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The award, which is The TPM Excellence -- First Category, was given to Autoliv's French subsidiary, Autoliv France, by the Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM).

In 2003, the JIPM-Institute awarded 69 companies with its first category award. Most of these companies were Japanese, and only nine European, including two from France.

JIPM's goal with its prize is to improve companies' results and to create motivating work conditions.

In JIPM's evaluation of candidates for the prize, the Japanese institute audits the following eleven factors and activities: TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) policy and objectives; TPM organizations and activities; Individual Improvement activities; Autonomous Maintenance activities; Planned Maintenance activities; Quality by Maintenance activities; Project Development activities; Training and Education; Maintenance in Administrative departments; Safety, Sanitation and Environment; as well as TPM results, effects and evaluation

Autoliv Inc. develops and manufactures automotive safety systems for all major automotive manufacturers in the world.
