Haldex wins an important engine fuel pump order and initiates production also in Europe


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Feb. 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hydraulic Systems, a division in the Haldex group, has been awarded the fuel transfer pump business at one of the world's leading diesel engine manufacturer. The order value is estimated at 30 million Euro over the next five years. To support this business, fuel pump production will be initiated at Haldex plant in Hof, Germany, in addition to the current production in Rockford, Illinois, USA.

Haldex currently supplies fuel transfer pumps for various kinds of injection systems on diesel engines. The business awarded from a world leading diesel engine manufacturer will initially serve two engine platforms, representing an annual sales value of some six million Euro. Significant additional business potentials are identified.

With the announced new business -- and in order to better serve theEuropean market -- Haldex will start production of fuel transfer pumps atits TS 16949 certified facility in Hof, Germany, where similar productsare being manufactured. Production is planned to begin by midsummer.
