Nomadix' CTO Joel Short to Discuss Roaming, Billing and Revenue Generation for WLANs and the Work of the Wi-Fi Alliance

 WHAT:          Joel Short, co-founder and chief technology officer of

                solutions, will speak at 3GSM World Congress in
                Cannes, France on February 26, 2004 from
                2:15 to 3:45 p.m. Dr. Short will examine Wi-Fi's
                roaming and provisioning hurdles, the search for a
                single-bill standard, the challenges of HotSpot
                revenue generation, and the work of the
                Wi-Fi Alliance as part of a panel discussion focused
                on WLANs.

 WHO:           Dr. Joel Short is the chief technology officer and

                Dr. Short also serves as vice-chair of
                Wi-Fi Alliance's Wireless ISP Roaming (WISPr)
                committee and is editor and co-author of WISPr's
                document on "Best Common Practices for Wireless ISP
               (WISP) Roaming". He is also the co-chairman of the
                Public-access Task Group within the Wi-Fi Alliance.
                Dr. Short has extensive experience in
                the design and management of complex computer network
                systems, having worked for various technology start-
                ups and well-known technology companies including
                Apple Computer. He received his Ph.D. in Computer
                Science from UCLA where he was a lead
                contributor to various ARPA sponsored wireless and
                mobile research projects including TRAVLER --
                Transparent Virtual Networking and WAMIS -- Wireless
                Adaptive Mobile Information Systems.
