"It is my hope that a software product called 'The Document Vault' will provide a simple and cost effective solution because it enables preservation storage to be a seamless part of the management process of any document," says Frankel.
The "Document Vault", a unique document archiving and preservation solution developed by Communications Synergy Technologies, Inc. (ComSynTech) of Brighton, is a software system that captures documentation via scanners, faxes, or from any other digital form. The "Document Vault" then manages those documents regardless of the software or systems used to generate them.
Documents are then archived and preserved in human readable form. A powerful search engine provides for efficient retrieval of required originals that have been moved to microfilm. Important documents may also be stored (up to 100 years) on the system for preservation at a later time.
What does this all mean for the town?
Town Clerk Susan Kramarsky, the manager for all Town of Brighton records, says the new system will make her work much more efficient.

The "Document Vault" system is currently being tested in the Brighton Town Clerk's Office, and Kramarsky says that early results are extremely favorable.
