STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 29, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Munters has received an order of USD 2.1 million from a world leading semiconductor manufacturer in the USA. The order is for systems for air pollution control equipment.
The manufacturing of semiconductors involves numerous processes where solvents are used. The resulting exhaust from semiconductor manufacturing is typically a high volume flow with low concentrations of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). This application is ideally suited for Munters Zeol systems. Munters Zeol systems remove solvents from air in a cost efficient manner in a process very similar to that of Munters dehumidifiers where humidity is removed from air.
"After a period of strong development until 2001, our Zeol sales have had a dramatic down-turn mainly due to low level of investment within the semiconductor industry. We hope that this is an indication that the situation is changing", says Mike McDonald, Regional President Americas.
The ordered systems will be delivered to several plants in the USA during 2004.
Munters delivers Zeol system to a wide variety of manufacturing processes, including semiconductor manufacturing, spray painting for automotive and aerospace, who uses solvents that generate exhaust air laden with environmentally harmful solvent vapors, so called VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).
