RICHARDSON, Texas, May 6, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- DiscLive, Inc., a unit of Immediatek (OTCBB:ITEK), creator of NetBurn Secure(tm) digital delivery and copy control solutions, announced the overwhelmingly successful completion of its three-week engagement with the Pixies. During the American and Canadian tour that started in Minneapolis on April 13 and ended May 1 and 2 at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, DiscLive sold live concert CDs onsite to an average of more than 20 percent of the attendees, and in some cases up to 50 percent of attendees.
All of the shows sold out their designated pre-sale allotments, and at several of the shows the remaining units were gone even before the Pixies took the stage. Only several hundred limited edition copies remain available on www.disclive.com out of the total 16,000 CDs available.
This week, DiscLive will produce live discs for the Doors of the 21st Century, featuring Ian Astbury of The Cult, in New York and Uncasville, Connecticut. The company is also close to announcing its summer touring schedule.
DiscLive also announced the launch of its west coast office headed by Stephen Prendergast, who is appointed General Manager - West Coast. Prendergast, formerly of BMG International and co-founder of Squint Entertainment, will be joined in the Los Angeles office by the company's co-founder Dave Blanchard.
"During this time of significant change in the music industry, it's rewarding to be involved with DiscLive, a company that is leading the way with an inventive and positive financial model for our business and its artists," said Prendergast. "Dave Blanchard and I are looking forward to reaching out to our industry on the west coast and spreading the word on DiscLive."
DiscLive is the pioneer in the quickly growing market of live discs available immediately after the concert, having sold more live discs at concert venues than its competitors combined, and completing tours from Vermont to California and now also in Canada.
The company's mobile recording and production facility can produce 800 high quality CDs in less than 20 minutes. The New York based company is headed by Rich Isaacson, CEO, and Sami Valkonen, President, each of whom have extensive track records in the music industry. A May 2 headline in The New York Times dubbed the DiscLive offer of legal high quality CDs available immediately after the concert "Rock's Best New Souvenir."
Immediatek, parent company of DiscLive, is the developer of NetBurn Secure(tm) (www.netburncd.com), the only "single-click CD download and burn" software product on the market that helps record labels, artists and content providers to curb Internet piracy and protect their revenues by providing copy control even after digital music has been burned to disc. NetBurn Secure(TM) also employs technology by third parties such as Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT). Immediatek's website is www.immediatek.com.
