BALTIMORE, May 20, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- View Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VYST) announced they will begin production of the FirstView First Responder long range video communications system. The manufacturing will first be used to clear the company's current backlog.
The FirstView product consists of three components: the handheld military spec video recording device that contains the camera, laser pointer and triple diversity antennae transmitter; the hard coded video data encryption stage to prevent unauthorized taping; and the long range communications antennae. After the initial manufacturing start-up at the federal national DOE lab in Idaho (INEL), the final assembly will be done internally at the company's facilities in Baltimore, Maryland. Initially, the components are sent to the Baltimore facility to be tested and shipped to its final destination.
Manufacturing Engineer Bill Jordan commented, "The focal point of our efforts is to bring production capacity, options versatility and repair ability in house. We believe that through our efforts to date, we have built the foundation necessary for View to mass manufacture and commercialize the FirstView product in a cost effective and distributable manner.
