NAPERVILLE, Ill., June 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- CALAMOS INVESTMENTS celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its new building, the topping-off of the structural steel, on June 14.
"I'm pleased to report that construction of our new headquarters is progressing on-schedule," said John P. Calamos, Sr., chairman, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of CALAMOS INVESMENTS. "Everyone at Calamos is looking forward to moving into the new building next summer. Not only will it consolidate all of our operations under one roof, but it will give us room to expand."
Chicago architect Dirk Lohan designed the glass-and-granite structure, which will be located at the intersection of Rte. 59 and I-88 in Naperville's Westings Corporate Community. A 600-car parking garage will accompany the 150,000-square foot building, and the landscaping will feature flowering trees and prairie grasses. Office suite space in the building will be available through Primacy Business Center, and retail space will be available through CALAMOS ASSET MANAGEMENT, INC.
Additionally, the building will boast state-of-the art technology and infrastructure. With movable internal partitions, the building will easily adapt to fit CALAMOS INVESTMENTS' staffing and space needs in the future. The building's infrastructure will ensure it exceeds business-critical needs through its redundancies, such as dual power and generating systems.
"The new building will be not only functional, but elegant," Calamos said. "The cutting-edge elements we're incorporating into the building and innovative design ensure that it will serve us well as we continue to grow, as well as fit with the corporate buildings along the I-88 corridor."
Dirk Lohan, the building's architect, and his team; CALAMOS INVESTMENTS' executive team; City of Naperville representatives; and the construction crew attended the ceremony.
