Pointsec Announces Nordic Financial Services Customer Win

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Pointsec Mobile Technologies, a subsidiary of IT security company Protect Data, and a global leader in enterprise security software for laptops, desktops, PDAs and smartphones, today announced a contract with Nordea, the leading financial services group in the Nordic and Baltic Sea region. Pointsec will deliver its security solution for all supported platforms to Nordea, which has included Pointsec in its new standard client platform.

"Through this contract, Nordea is set to become one of our premier customers in the Nordic financial community, which is a key market for us," said Thomas Bill, CEO, Protect Data. "We believe Nordea's new security policy will serve as a model, since it requires mandatory encryption of all data for mobile use."

Nordea is the leading financial services group in the Nordic and Baltic Sea region and operates through three business areas: Retail Banking, Corporate and Institutional Banking and Asset Management & Life.

Pointsec deliveries to Nordea are set to begin in Q3, 2004, and will continue as Nordea deploys its new standard client platform across the organization. Through this new platform, Pointsec will replace Nordea's previous encryption solution, while, at the same time, Microsoft Windows XP will be established as the company's standard client operating system. Nordea will use Pointsec to secure mobile PC workstations, PDAs, and smartphones. These changes will have a direct effect on 8,000 users within Nordea in the Nordic region.

Pointsec is a global leader in providing comprehensive access control and encryption solutions for laptop and desktop PCs, PDAs and smartphones, supporting all major operating systems, including Symbian OS.

Other organisations across the globe that use Pointsec include the U.S. IRS (Internal Revenue Service), Capgemini, the U.S. Justice Department, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, AstraZeneca, Cisco, Ericsson and Telia.
