CUMMING, Ga., Aug. 9, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- PlanetLink Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:PLKC), a provider of satellite-based products and services, announced today that Mr. Frank Collias has joined the Company as Director of Business Development. The appointment of Mr. Collias continues the Company's efforts to build out its management team in support of its TransTRAK product rollout in Mexico and in the U.S.
PlanetLink recently announced that it had completed its first commercial agreement for an order of 400 units of the TransTRAK mobile locator device to Mexico-based Estrella Blanca, SA. The Company has also begun marketing TransTRAK through a distributor relationship to businesses in the Atlanta area where it has already processed three commercial orders. The Company is currently in the process of establishing sales and marketing channels in other major metropolitan cities across the U.S.
Mr. Collias has extensive experience managing new product introduction and product development projects for companies including Lucent Technologies, IBM, and Lowes Corporation. During his time at Lucent Technologies from 1999 to 2002, Mr. Collias managed the new product introduction and commercialization of a "last mile" solution for broadband access. He has also assisted in the introduction and implementation of mapping software and CAD software while serving in Business Development positions at C.I.S., Inc. and Hal-Tech Software Solutions.
