SAN DIEGO, Nov. 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) introduced today at the Emergency Response 2004 Exhibition & Conference, a field application software program based on the highly regarded EMS SARMaster Integrated Search and Rescue software.
The SARMaster Field Application is a lightweight incident management application, developed for the emergency management community. Running on a laptop, this field application will support the independent creation and management of Search and Rescue incidents, and will be compatible with existing SARMaster applications. Communications between the Field Application and SARMaster will occur over a secure Internet connection.
During a rescue or emergency response operation, establishing secure, reliable, fast and mobile communications at the scene can be a challenge. With the SARMaster Field Application, managing these incidents and establishing communications between multiple members of the team is easy. EMS's incident management capabilities are used on a daily basis in search and rescue centers in the USA and around the world.
"In coordinating the response to a disaster, one of the most difficult aspects is the effective management of the flow of data, in order to ensure all necessary information is captured and disseminated appropriately. EMS's incident management system helps coordinate that information flow, while facilitating multi-agency coordination during a disaster event," said Steve Edgett, vice president, Emergency Management Products Group, SATCOM Division.
