BAY CITY, Mich. and TORONTO, Nov. 17, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sciax Corp. (Pink Sheets:SCXC) today reported another sale to BP Canada, a large oil and gas industry customer, for endoscope equipment used in the visual inspection of large reciprocating engines.
The industrial market segment of Sciax' business, continues to have success in this application field with the swivel-prism Endoscopes obtained from the company's partner, Richard Wolf GmbH as noted in an earlier press release.
"The continuing success we are experiencing in the oil and gas industry further highlights the importance of our long term partnership with Richard Wolf GmbH and our industry focused sales efforts," stated Ralph Manore, Vice President of Operations for Sciax.
Endoscopes, also called, borescopes, fiberscopes or videoprobes, are used in remote visual inspection applications by a variety of security and industrial users. These scopes enable users to visually inspect hidden or inaccessible areas in circumstances where viewing with the unaided eye would be difficult or impossible. The opto-electronic technology used in industrial endoscopes is very similar to that of medical instruments which are increasingly employed in diagnostic procedures and minimally invasive surgery.
"It is worthwhile to note that Industrial Endoscopes have several security applications where they are useful in conducting contraband searches, covert surveillance, and physical security operations and forms a nice synergy with our security related products," continued Manore.
The company's Wolf Pack(tm) as used in security applications can be fitted with a specialized Endoscope Camera. This Sciax produced Wolf Pack accessory extends the systems visual data gathering capabilities to the 'hidden and inaccessible areas' as noted above with the use of an endoscope.
