The Stockwinners.com Active Traders page reported purchase of 3,000 contracts of X January $30 call options for about $3.66 million. It appears that the stock is heading higher. Sepracor (Nasdaq:SEPR) put options were also in demand, as the stock traded below its 30-, 50-, and 200-day moving averages. Active Traders reported the purchase of 7,500 contracts of January $35 put options for about $825,000, a bearish move. Shares of the pharmaceutical concern closed down 96 cents at $44.95.
Intel (Nasdaq:INTC) call options were sold, as investors were betting that shares would continue to lag the general market. A trader sold 32,000 contracts of the December $25 call options for about $480,000. The company will give a mid-quarter update on December 2. Shares lost 15 cents to close at $23.06.
In addition to real time option block trades, the Stockwinners.com Active Traders page continuously delivers a variety of information traders can use to improve their results. A feature that has proven to be very popular involves lists of stocks that have been heavily shorted and could offer "short-squeeze" opportunities. One recent such posting was Northfield Laboratories (Nasdaq:NFLD). Almost one quarter of the shares have been shorted. Shares gained $1.21 to close at $18.70.
