ORLANDO, Fla. and DALLAS, Jan. 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Immediatek, Inc. (OTCBB:ITEK) announced today that DiscLive is recording the Musicians 4 Disaster Relief concert to be held on February 5th in Orlando, FL. The concert, organized by legendary rock musician Rick Derringer in association with The John Entwistle Foundation, is to assist the victims of the recent tsunami and also the rash of hurricanes that have battered Florida. It is the first-ever major disaster relief concert recorded by DiscLive, and also the first event of its kind to have mass CDs available immediately after the show.
DiscLive will be onsite selling live CDs of the event, and will also offer a special 2-CD compilation in a numbered collector's set for $25 each. The compilation CD, which will represent the first release on Immediatek's "Moving Records" label, and the onsite live CD "Paks" are available for pre-order on the www.m4dr.org website, as well as www.disclive.com.
Participants include Mr. Derringer, (who is also acting as Executive Music Director for the event); Michael Bolton; AC/DC's Brian Johnson; The Allman Brothers' Dickey Betts; Three Dog Night's Chuck Negron; Loverboy; Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner; from Cheap Trick, Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander; Eddie Money & Band; Dee Snider & Twisted Sister; Jacobs Loc (featuring the former lead singer of "O Town"); TorQue; and The Landers Sisters. Additional surprise guests will likely be announced between now and showtime.
The show promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime affair. In addition to individual and group performances throughout the event, superstars will band together with other celebrities at the end of the night to perform an original song composed by Mr. Derringer entitled "Dawn of Love." DiscLive CDs will include this special performance and the track will also be available for download.
Charity proceeds raised through the event will go to the John Entwistle Foundation, who will then disseminate funds to the American Red Cross and the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund.
