ALPHARETTA, Ga., Feb. 1, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Optio(r) Software (OTCBB:OPTO) today announced it has realigned its organization to bring together its support and professional services organizations into a unified Technical Services Group focused on ensuring customer satisfaction. The company also announced new leadership for its research and development team, which is focused on the delivery of the next generation of solutions to help enterprises manage the full lifecycle of transactional documents. The R&D organization is also delivering comprehensive electronic health record and clinical document management solutions. The organizational changes take effect immediately.
"The creation of a unified technical services team will allow Optio to focus specifically on individual customers' needs and their ongoing success," said Wayne Cape, Optio Software chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Additionally, by having the R&D team reporting to a senior manager solely focused on that task, we will improve our ability to deliver strategic solutions to help customers streamline document processes, reduce costs and improve profitability."
Terry Kraft, reporting to Cape, will become senior vice president of the newly formed Technical Services Group. In this role, Kraft, who formerly managed product development and support services, will concentrate on ensuring that services and support become more customer-focused, proactive and cost-effective. He has more than two decades of experience in defining, developing, delivering and service related offerings for the technology industry.
Don French will become senior vice president of Optio Research and Development, reporting to Cape. French will be responsible for all enterprise and healthcare product development. French joined Optio in August 2004 with the acquisition of Vertisoft Corporation as senior vice president of Healthcare Products. A pioneer in clinical document management, he originally became involved in healthcare solutions as the founder of FMG Corp. He went on to found two more successful companies, including Vertisoft. In his nearly five months with Optio, French has already played a critical role in upgrading two Optio products, including the QuickRecord(tm) suite of electronic health record and clinical document management solutions.
