RESTON, Va., Feb. 1, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV), North America's premier provider of mobile satellite communications, has responded to the needs of the Public Safety/First Responder market by announcing a new rate plan program and a push-to-talk (PTT) handset.
MSV's new PTT handset is compatible with its existing customer equipment, allowing Public Safety/First Responder customers to expand their user base and continue to integrate satellite into their overall emergency management operations, thus enabling real time communications anywhere in North America. This new handset is a key communications tool that meets the needs of federal, state and regional agencies.
In response to the issues of fixed budget cycles and non-fluctuating monthly bills, a reality of many government agencies, MSV has introduced a new annualized rate plan for Dispatch Radio Service PTT that includes an allocation of voice minutes. The annualized rate plan means that Public Safety/First Responder customers have fixed annual service costs and a bonus allocation of voice minutes allowing them the flexibility of making private telephone calls over a secure network as the need arises, free of concerns about extra charges on their monthly invoice. The annualized rate plan can be matched to a budget cycle.
"MSV is focused on finding solutions to the ever growing demand for satellite dispatch radio service by First Responders. Our solutions are being embraced by all of our customers as they continue to recognize the tremendous capability that satellite services provide in their emergency operations," says Carson Agnew, president and COO MSV. "We continue to dedicate resources to producing new solutions for this market, with a planned launch of new hardware in the second half of 2005."
