Stanford Blood Center operates within the Department of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Stanford Blood Center performs research and teaching and serves the increasingly large and complex transfusion needs of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, Stanford Hospital & Clinics, the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, El Camino Hospital and O'Connor Hospital in San Jose.
The ARMS system monitors the temperature, humidity and the environmental parameters of a variety of units used to store sensitive life-saving resources such as blood and medication. The system also provides a comprehensive web-based tool set that allows customers to meet regulatory and compliance documentation requirements.
For the past ten years, Stanford Blood Center has used a wired monitoring system to ensure the quality of its blood products and reagents. In 2004, the Blood Center was notified that it would be moving its operations to a new location several miles from its current site.
