3GSM WORLD CONGRESS, CANNES, Feb. 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Providing operators with one common network management platform for the Powerwave antenna products, the NetWay Manager system is built on open standards such as SNMP, and offers a cost-efficient network management solution.
Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:PWAV), a leading global supplier of end-to-end wireless infrastructure solutions, introduced its NetWay Manager(TM) for antenna systems today at 3GSM World Congress, the mobile industry's premier event, taking place in Cannes, France Feb. 14-17.
Building upon the success of previous generations of the NetWay Manager, which have supported the Powerwave microwave radiolink systems since 2001, NetWay Manager for Antenna Systems is an SNMP-based network management platform that centrally monitors and manages critical network interconnected remote controlled antenna devices.
"Powerwave is pleased to lead the industry with the development of innovative wireless network solutions like the NetWay Manager," said Ronald J. Buschur, President and Chief Executive Officer, Powerwave Technologies. "Providing network operators with the ability to manage complex and dynamic communication networks, the NetWay Manager's real-time monitoring capabilities maximize performance and minimize downtime, saving time and money on maintenance costs while increasing end-user satisfaction."
The NetWay Manager is available in a Telecom Edition and an Enterprise Edition. Both versions of the Powerwave NetWay Manager feature fault management for real-time error detection; complete configuration and inventory management functionality; performance management; and, secure system administration. Based on open standards for easy integration with Network Management and Operation and Support Systems, the NetWay Manager Telecom and Enterprise Editions provide network operators with a number of time-saving features, such as easy installation, configuration and integration with third-party SNMP-based components; auto-discovery of network components; and, user-friendly graphical user interfaces.
The NetWay Manager Telecom Edition also offers network operators several distinct advantages including the ability to supervise more than 10,000 network elements, live/standby server support, and remote client access. For enhanced efficiency and sub-network management the Telecom Edition also features the full suite of NetTools modules including the Software Downloader, Network Data Collector, Network Configurer and Configuration Backuper.
The NetWay Manager Enterprise Edition can be used as both a Network Element Manager and as a Network Management System for small networks, providing network operators with a total overview of all network components with standard protocols.
