"These new inventions illustrate the wide range of design technologies that we are able to deploy in premium timepieces," said Oakley President Colin Baden. "Oakley takes advantage of production innovations from its diversified range of performance products, including the ability to combine dissimilar materials to create something greater than the sum of its parts. For our latest timepiece inventions, we integrated premium leather into the design language by blending it sculpturally with the metal."
Oakley's new SADDLEBACK(tm) timepiece expands on design concepts from the company's Military/Industrial Division. The large, easy-to-read display includes luminous phosphors for low-light environments, and has a date display. SADDLEBACK(tm) combines the precision of Swiss made, gold plated five-jewel movement with the durability of 316L high-grade stainless steel. Its comfortable wrist mount of genuine leather can be worn as a stand-alone strap or looped through a leather sheath. The pure sapphire crystal is enhanced with antireflective (AR) coating for minimized glare and the stealth of a reduced reflective signature. Water resistance of 10 bar (330 feet/100 meters) is optimized by a dual-sealed crown. SADDLEBACK(tm) also offers the endurance of a 74-month battery.
Embracing the design language of Oakley's premium JUDGE(tm) wristwatch, the new JURY(tm) timepiece blends the elegance of stainless steel with the finesse of sculptural sophistication. It offers the precision of Swiss made, gold plated ten-jewel movement and includes a dedicated second hand sub-dial. Two unique architectures are available. The first provides the ergonomic comfort of a surgical grade stainless steel band that surrenders to the shape of the wrist. The second is a genuine leather wrist mount that can be worn as a stand-alone strap or looped through a leather sheath. Both renditions feature the opulence and durability of a pure sapphire crystal.
Oakley's new SADDLEBACK(tm) timepiece is available with a Stealth Black finish for $450 or with a Honed finish in four optional color combinations for $400 each. The new JURY(tm) timepiece is available with a Polished or Honed finish in several color combinations, plus the option of a stainless steel or leather band. The JURY(tm) prices range from $500 to $625.
Oakley's commitment to the unsurpassed quality of Swiss watchmaking is reflected in the company's ongoing involvement in the World Watch Fair in Switzerland, a venue that showcases some of the finest timekeeping instruments in the world.
