Metso Paper will supply a tissue production line to Italian Sofidel S.p.A for its new mill in Germany. The line is scheduled to start production during the second half of 2006 in Stendal, Germany. The value of the order is not disclosed.
Metso's scope of delivery will comprise a complete stock preparation system and a tissue machine with auxiliary equipment, air and ventilation equipment, and dust management systems. The machine will be equipped with a multilayering headbox for improved paper formation and energy savings in the approach system. Metso Automation will supply the automation systems for the line.
The tissue machine will have a width of 5.5 m, an operating speed of 2000 m/min, and a daily production of 170 - 220 tons of high-quality facial, toilet and towel grades.
The market value of these types of tissue production lines ranges from EUR 5 million to 15 million, depending on the scope of delivery and production output.
The Sofidel Group manufactures tissue paper and converts it into paper products such as toilet paper, kitchen towels, tissues, napkins and industrial products.
