Agfa gains top security clearance from U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command

This achievement builds on prior approvals attained for Agfa's IMPAX at the Air Force Surgeon General level. The Air Mobility Command includes 12 stateside Air Force Bases, including: Andrews AFB, Charleston AFB, Dover AFB, Fairchild AFB, Grand Forks AFB, MacDill AFB, McChord AFB, McConnell AFB, McGuire AFB, Pope AFB, Scott AFB, and Travis AFB.

"Agfa is the only PACS vendor to achieve this major command certificate to operate," said Agfa's Tim Artz, Global Government Program Director HealthCare. "Our system went through rigorous testing to prove the viability of the system for the Air Force's needs. That IMPAX has reached the top level of security, equivalent to the levels at which national security systems have to be certified, is indicative of our commitment to security. This is testament to our product maturity."

Over the past six years, Agfa has built a strong presence within the U.S. government PACS market, with IMPAX installed in more than 80 medical treatment facilities and some 30 ships at sea. Agfa's PACS solutions last year were the first to achieve Department of Defense security certification and accreditation.
